But at the time of writing: David Mitchell, Kazuo Ishiguro, especially The Remains of The Day and Nocturnes, Albert Camus, The Dark Tower series by Stephen King, Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov, 1984 and Animal Farm by George Orwell, Franz Kafka, Terry Pratchett, Daphne du Maurier, recent Cormac McCarthy, One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest by Ken Kesey and more. When it comes to female authors I’m aware I’m undernourished, so recommendations that aren’t Jane Austen or J K Rowling would be appreciated...
